Workplace health monitoring

We examine, risk-assess and monitor workplace health for employees who are exposed to specific hazards at work. This helps detect any early signs of a work-related illness, allowing action to be taken to prevent it from worsening. This monitoring includes:

  • Audiometric testing for workers exposed to loud noise in manufacturing, construction, or other noisy environments
  • Respiratory health for those exposed to dust, fumes, or other airborne substances that can cause respiratory problems, such as wood dust, flour dust, or solder fumes
  • Vision evaluations for crane operators and other individuals whose eyesight is vital to their safety on the job
  • Skin surveillance for employees who regularly handle chemicals, oils, or other substances that can cause dermatitis
  • Musculoskeletal conditions to recognise injury or disease affecting the joints, bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments
  • Night shift assessments, consisting of an initial assessment and subsequent annual assessments for night shift employees
  • Display screen equipment assessments for people who use computers, laptops, or CCTV for part of their working day
  • Face fit testing to ensure RPE (Respiratory Protective Equipment) fits correctly and provides protection from dust, fumes, and other harmful substances in the workplace

What are the benefits of health surveillance?

Scotland-wide support

Our health surveillance services can be delivered on-site at your workplace anywhere in Scotland, at our clinics in Dundee, Edinburgh, Inverness, and Leven, or by our fixed-cost, quick-response mobile health team.

Legal compliance

It is a legal requirement in the UK for employers to provide health surveillance where there is a risk of employees being exposed to certain health hazards, even if control measures are in place.

Increased productivity, fewer absences

Employees who feel safe and well-supported tend to have higher morale and engagement, as well as lower absenteeism and presenteeism, which helps your business improve productivity.

Lower costs

Avoid financial loss by avoiding serious accidents in the workplace. Reduce long-term sickness absence, lower insurance premiums, and improve employee retention. A clear Return On Investment (ROI).

Reduce risk

Workplace health surveillance helps protect your employees from hazards and accidents, reduce long-term illness, and maintain your reputation through legal compliance, proactive prevention, and active monitoring.

Experience you can trust

Benefit from our two decades of experience keeping Scottish businesses and their people safe, healthy, and supported with effective health surveillance.
